Linuxhaxor In The Spotlight

By Doug Caverly

Let's be honest: we all know that, when you click on the word "bookmarks" in your Internet browser's toolbar, LinuxProNews isn't the only site listed there. This fact is no problem. Heck, a little variety does the mind good, and today we'll even go so far as to point you towards Linuxhaxor.net.

Linuxhaxor is a young-feeling site that breaks away from some of the technical drivel in which many Linux conversations get mired. One of Linuxhaxor's formal goals, even, is "to present Linux in the most fun way," and the most recent post, if you need an illustration, features a cartoon teasing both Mac and PC fans ("illustration" pun intended).

Other focuses include tips, tricks, and news, so there should be some useful stuff, too. If you want a second example, take a glance at the recent 900-word article titled "Everything You Wanted To know About Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex."

As for the site's community, Linuxhaxor boasts a pretty large - and quickly growing - audience. That Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex piece attracted 16 comments, and about 260 people have visited the site in the last hour (it's a little after lunchtime on a Wednesday), so you shouldn't worry about wasting time on a ghost town.

All in all, Linuxhaxor looks like a great place for Linux enthusiasts to hang out. In the interest of full disclosure: yes, along with LinuxProNews, it's an iEntry property. But independent of that association, we still think it deserves a spot among your other bookmarks.
